Steel Advertising & Interactive Launches the Steel Brandraising Program for Nonprofits

AUSTIN, Texas (July 22, 2008) — Steel Advertising & Interactive announced today its Steel Brandraising Program for Nonprofits. The Brandraising Program is designed to provide all the bells and whistles traditionally associated with full-service accounts to nonprofit organizations at a fraction of the cost.

“We were very inspired by the work they did with The Miracle Foundation and feel they can help us tell our story in a creative and evocative way.”

“We love working with nonprofit organizations and believe their work is important to our society,” said Kirsten Cutshall, partner at Steel Advertising & Interactive. “But so often the case is that nonprofits either get short-changed by agencies because of their small budgets, or agencies use a nonprofit account as a testing ground for new ideas and concepts that might not always be in the best interest of the nonprofit.”

Cutshall added: “We really see the value in this program for nonprofits because we believe that truly integrated branding permeates technology, the volunteer base, fundraising and mission programs and ultimately helps them do more.”

The Steel Brandraising Program

The Steel Brandraising Program focuses on providing the full-service, superior quality branding and technology services to regional and national nonprofits that are traditionally not available through pro bono arrangements. Key elements of the Steel Brandraising Program include:

  • Streamlined brand development – The Brandraising Program adapts Steel Advertising & Interactive’s proven branding process based on account planning traditions that are used on fortune 500 brands to help nonprofits think more like for-profit organizations when it comes to branding and technology implementations.
  • Powerful Technology Tools – The Brandraising Program provides nonprofits access to Steel’s SMS, a web management system to give nonprofits website control, templates and other replicable tools that set the client free from maintenance.
  • Inside knowledge – The Brandraising Program provides nonprofits access to Steel’s network and resources of grant opportunities and low-cost partnerships to help nonprofits get the most for their money.
  • Discounted hourly rate – Nonprofits receive a lower rate on creative services.

The Brandraising Program is designed for nonprofit organizations that truly value the power of strong brands in obtaining greater fundraising, advocacy and mission programs support and nonprofits that want to work in partnership with Steel to design and build a comprehensive branding platform from top to bottom.

Steel recently added four new nonprofit clients to its growing roster as part of its Steel Brandraising Program: WriteToShare.org, Tapestry Dance Company, The Austin Zoo and Animal Sanctuary, and the International Tap Association.

“We are excited to be working with Steel to help redefine our image and increase awareness nationally and internationally,” said Hilary Olson, board member of Tapestry Dance Company. “We were very inspired by the work they did with The Miracle Foundation and feel they can help us tell our story in a creative and evocative way.”

Olson continued, “From the first, we were impressed with the level of sincerity coupled with the level of creativity and fun they bring to the table. We know that Steel will help us accomplish our objectives.”

WriteToShare.org, a nonprofit organization, is a free online community developing and sharing quality educational resources for the millions of teachers and students around world. With roots dating back to the 1970s, The Austin Zoo and Animal Sanctuary is a sanctuary for rescued and abandoned animals – domestic and exotic. ITA is the international trade association for the tap industry with a mission to promote and support the craft.

Cutshall continued: “The mission and focus of nonprofit organizations is very much in line with our core values and beliefs that everyone needs to contribute to society on a personal level, and we wanted to create a program that would be cost-effective for these organizations while at the same time making a sustainable business for us. We feel the Steel Brandraising Program accomplishes that goal.”

Steel Advertising & Interactive employees also volunteer time and energy in the Austin community to a multitude of nonprofit organizations, from The Miracle Foundation to St. John Neumann Catholic Church and the Association for Women in Technology.
